X1 Eastbank, Residential Apartments, Manchester

XI Eastbank is an 8-storey, high-end residential development in central Manchester. P.A.W. Structures were contracted to design and install the complete building superstructure for the main contractor, Forrest.

P.A.W. delivered the frame using SIGMAT light gauge steel frames and a ground floor hot rolled steel podium transfer. This project created 111 new apartments – including one and two-bedroom apartments and penthouses.

The light gauge steel solution allowed an accelerated programme which ran from July to December 2015. It was well-managed throughout in a tight urban location and meant the client benefited from an earlier occupation and return upon investment.

This was our first project with P.A.W. Structures and I can say that it was a successful one. Their communication throughout was extremely positive and honest. The P.A.W. Senior Site Manager and their ‘holiday cover’ Site Manager were not only professional but exemplary in work ethic and manner. The promises made by both during site and progress meetings were met. As for programme, I can report that this was achieved by P.A.W. and overall, Forrest were very impressed with the system and hope to repeat the experience with future suitable projects.
